Okay so just installed a new corsair 4gb ram in my machine, and then vista wont boot at all....whereas it does with my older ram...in the same memory lane

SPecs:

New ram: Corsair 1 X4gb stick DDR3 1333 CMV4GX3M1A1333C, 1.5v
Old Ram: Zion 1X@2gb DDR13333(hynix chipset)

CPU: Phenom 2 555BE
Mobo: Asus m4a785T-M

Even tried upping the ram volt all the way to 1.65 V but no avail
Checked on corsair's site and this ram seems to figure in the a chart listing all compatible rams for my mobo

So did i get a dud?
Any one faced a similar issue??? :S

^^ yups seems that the case..just coming back after submitting it for rma..the folks will ship it to b'lore office and hopefully by Wednesday i`ll get the stick back...

- mods - pls close the thread.

If the RAM is meant to run at 1.5V, it may not run at 1.65V. It may only be designed for Sandybridge systems. Check the new RAM you get from RMA, if it happens again then it is probably a compatibility issue, else could perhaps be a DOA case.
