I am dreaming of a networked setup in my house.
My basic requirements are.
1. Ability to automatically backup my laptops (2 in number, both running Win7) to a NAS which is available over WIFI.
2. Ability to access the NAS over the internet from office.
3. Expandable storage in NAS.
4. Ability to view the movies/photos from the shared storage on a wifi enabled TV (this wifi enabled TV shall be bought sometime in future)
5. Ability to configure torrent downloads on the NAS (good to have not a mandatory requirement).
Whatever little research I was able to do, i understand that Pogoplug is the way to go.This is the model that I am considering buying.
Pogoplug Series 4 Backup Device [Newest Version]
I know it meets my requirement nos 2,3,5. Not sure about 1 & 4. Requirement 1, I think is more of a backup software feature than a NAS feature.
As far as wifi enabled TV is considered, I am guessing that most of the mid end TVs that are either wifi ready or have wifi built in should be able to access the storage.
I need help from you guys in verifying that this version of pogoplug is the device that can help me meet my requirements or not. Or is there something else in the market that is more future proof.
