My Iphone 3GS just got locked ........ what to do ??

I owned a Iphone 3GS 16GB.

I wanted to erase all data. So I clicked on "Erase all Content and settings " in the iphone.

I had no idea it will also delete the OS.
THe phone does not start now.

I tried to restore it but Itunes says the Sim card is not recognised carrier so cannot activate the phone.

And foolishly i loaded the firmware 3.1.3 on it using a custom ipsw.

Now it just opens in Emergency mode.

so , how to unlock and then jailbreak the phone ??
 
U cannot Jailbreak 3.1.3 unless previously jailbroken.
also currently there is no unlock available for baseband 5.1.2
So sit tight for an unlock to be released.
Till then use it as a paperw8.
 
if u have used a custom firmware and not upgraded the baseband, you may have a chance. Try the regular method of using blackra1n. When installed on your phone, the menu also presents the unlock option.
 
yea, and now you have also upgraded the baseband, also their are chances to downgrade it with SHSH blobs if they are backed up on cydia, but i dont think u can unlock it for now :(
 
i don't think you can downgrade your baseband though, so you won't be able to unlock :|

NEVER update without making sure an unlock exists for the new version :p
 
Can't u downgrade the firmware by holding "SHIFT" key while clicking UPDATE button in iTunes ? So that u browse & load a previous firmware ?

will not downgrade the baseband and hence cannot be unlocked.
 
Let us know your current baseband

In your iphone, navigate to
Settings > General > About >
and check out for "modem firmware"
and let us know what is written for that space.
