CPU/Mobo Intel Q6600 Overheating

Hiya folks, ive got an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 (default Cooler) running at stock speeds of 2.4GHz on a Gigabyte G31S2L Motherboard. Of late I have been getting some beeping sounds while rendering some scenes from Maya & Max & now its also started to creep up between video games.

I tried a quick look at Real Temp and the results were shocking . Im slightly bothered about the thermal status of the first core. Im attaching a screenshot below , please do take a look and advise me what steps to take

Thank You

The thermal paste has started showing signs of aging. Remove the heatsink and clean it, clean the stock goop from both the surfaces using iso-propyl alcohol (available at most medical/pharmacists' stores), use an aftermarket thermal paste such as the Arctic Cooling MX2 and seat the heatsink back.

Best would be to clean out the system dust. Remove the HSF. Clean both surfaces with Isopropyl Alcohol. RETIM, and firmly apply the HSF. Should lower the temperatures.
