Recently my WD Scorpio blue 160gb hdd started showing weird problems on my netbook. I just pushed the shut down button and went to sleep the next morning i am see a an error it had failed to shutdown (some .dll file went missing).
I thought formatting the hard drive and re-installing the OS would solve the problem but it didn't. The hard disk showed up in boot ...I went through Windows installation option but then I can't install OS on my Hard disk on either of partition because of a warning "the hard disk will fail". Then I tried again now I couldn't even get through the installation procedure where we select the drive.
I used liveUSB ubuntu and found that my hard disk can't be mounted or formatted, SMART test showed disk failure is imminent.
I even plugged it into a desktop but no partition were detected!
Can I recover data from it somehow?
