Good Tripod for Panasonic FZ 18

Guys I am looking for a tripod for my year old Panasonic FZ 18.

Please pour in your suggestions. I have no idea in this area just some solid strong & light weight tripod for rough use.

PS: Shop in Chennai where I can go and buy them.

Need them in a week.

Also need idea on filters to be used along with the Camera. Want those first.
 
Don't mind hijacking the thread ..but even Ive been wanting to purchase a tripod for my FZ35 since a longtime . Don't want to spend a lot .. maybe 700-1000 bucks -max 1500 if it's worth it . Are their any specific models I should be looking at ?

Should I get it off ebay ,online store etc or visit the camera shops in Fort to purchase them ?

Also what filters are available for the FZ35 ? How do they help :ashamed: ?

Not at all.

I heard UV Filters for Panny FZ 18 is good, so I guess being the big brother it can hold good for FZ 35. Try in ebay.in
 
UV filters and CPL filters do a decent job for FZ 35. I got a Vivitar VPT-1200W tripod off ebay for around 900/- i think. Its quiet good for the price, and comes with a carry bag. Has plated aluminium body, and good quality plastic parts, and the feet too is good.

its the vivitar 1200. I used a coupon os 250 off or somethin , back then.

bit expensive for the size, but is sure handy, and versatily.

for FZ35, atleast medium one is recommended :)
 
^Thanks . I saw the snaps you've clicked with the FZ-35 on orkut :p You are really good with it ! I finally figured out how to use manual focus in macro shots etc but still end up with completely blurred images :(
