PC Peripherals Dell local warranty for imported products

Hello,
If I buy a Dell LCD or Laptop from abroad, and bring it here, do I still get the Dell warranty? Isn't there some way of transferring the warranty? Will I have to pay extra for the warranty?
 
Yeah I guess you can but only if the warranty offered along with the product is onsite( no warranty transfer if the original warranty is carry-in or something else which is not on-site). I had brought one laptop from US back in 2007 that was having carry-in warranty(i.e. carry to the service center in case of any issue). I was quoted a hefty amt(way above the normal warranty rates) for warranty extension in India.
