need to get data recovered from a laptop hdd(seagate 7200rpm). seems to be a mechanical failure(with clicking noise coming from the hdd). data is really important.

any suggestions on where to avail such services(in mumbai/chandigarh) and chances of recovery in such cases(i.e. mechanical failure). and, of course, apprx cost of availing such service?

wud also appreciate if u cud share your experiences, if any on this matter.

Only suggestions:

1. Dont show too much importance of Data or the charges would be very high!

2. Give your HDD only after the pricing is settled. Or generally these people recover the data and Erase the HDD so that you cant go anywhere else. They dont even tell you that they have the data on one of their's HDD. (If you pay, they act as if they are recovering data and give it to you.)
 
Once contacted Stellar - Got quotation of 27000 Rs :p

Never ever contacted them.

Would you spend 27000 for 5000 Rs HDD ? Well Only corporates can afford them
