  • What's your Budget? Cheaper the better
  • What will be your primary usage for the notebook be? (e.g. web surfing/office apps/Casual Gaming) Typing(MS Word) , acrobat reader, browsing (google chrome)
  • What size and weight considerations do you have? (e.g. Do you want a 17" desktop replacement or you want an ultraportable 12" or something in between) Dont care
  • Any brand that you prefer, or any brand that you detest? (e.g some would prefer to stay away from Acer or Dell) all brands are acceptable
  • Any other considerations? (e.g Battery life; Widescreen/non-widescreen; Glossy/Matte screen etc.) BACKLIT KEYBOARD. Matte screen welcome, but not mandatory.

I do a lot of my work in very dimly lit conditions, so a backlit keyboard is a must.

I was considering this laptop.

However this post here tells me that it may/may not be a backlit keyboard.

Yeah. Posting this image does make people reply. I have done it once before.

Now coming to your query, I couldn't find a laptop with backlit keyboard even in the 50k range. Earlier, Sony used to provide backlit keyboards but not in its latest Fit series models.
You have 2 choices:
1. Get a tablet instead.
2. Get a laptop with easily removable keyboard like Dell vostro and replace its keyboard with an off-market one.

At that budget you wont get a Backlit Keyboard based Laptop.
Suggest getting a good Laptop and buy a separate backlit keyboard to add separately through USB ports.

Now lets put it this way.

This <bleep> forum wont let me post without specifying a budget, and I thought cheaper the better, so I chose 0-20k, but that should stop nobody from giving alternate(more expensive) suggestions anyway.

Woah, cool bro.
If budget is not a constraint, then you can go with HP Envy series, Lenovo Yoga/U Series/Z Series & Thinkpad.
This is to give you some ideas so that you can frame your budget accordingly (Somewhere north of 40k).

Budget is not that much of a constraint, but given the fact that I'll just be using it for word and pdf and browsing, I'll till like to keep it as low as possible.

F5 and re-check your thread title. Unfortunately I'm afraid I can't help you with that man who's got a gun pointed at your head forcing you to stay on this <bleep> forum :p

You can't find a cheaper laptop with backlit keyboard than this : http://configure.ap.dell.com/dellst...iron-15-5547-laptop&c=in&l=en&s=dhs&cs=indhs1

Can you remove the crappy format which mandates specifying of a budget.

And can ANYBODY specify whether the first laptop in the link has its keyboard backlit or not.

It says keyboard: Yes

Snapdeal says it has backlit keyboard http://www.snapdeal.com/product/acer-v5122p-nxm8wsi008-netbook-apu/763854872

So does http://www.91mobiles.com/acer-v5-12...-500-gb-windows-8-laptop-price-in-india-63094

So does indiatimes http://shopping.indiatimes.com/comp...8-chill-silver-nx-m8wsi-008-/11389/p_B3123745

So does home shop 18 http://www.homeshop18.com/acer-aspi...s-tablets/laptops/product:32355853/cid:16315/

So does flipkart

And since you are a mod, dont you think there is a moral obligation on you to not be rude, because you can only expect from fellow members what you hand out to them.

But still cant find any reviews for the said laptop.

I do not understand the hostility here.

a) Its not a laptop
b) it doesnt have a backlit keyboard
Yeah but it was the closest thing that I could find that fits your requirements.

About the Acer laptop, while it seems that it does have a backlit keyboard, I will recommend that you visit a shop to verify before buying.

EDIT: Flipkart does not mention it having backlit keyboard.
