Price : Rs. 37050
Location : Univercell, CMH Road, Bangalore

I went to ask for the piece on Friday and they were quoting 39000. Sangeetha was quoting 39990 with bunch of accessories and goodies which I do not want. Chorma and Reliance digital were quoting 38990. However I got a call on Saturday from Univercell telling me that they will give 5% off for the model to me.
So I went ahead and bought it. However they were still quoting 39000 to the other customers. So Its better that you show a lot of interest but do not buy from Univercell on the first day, that way you can expect a call on the next day. Luckily they had a Pebble blue , so it made the deal even better.

It is my first android phone so I am still learning. I will update this thread with my initial impressions and some pics from taken from the cell in upcoming hours.

I feel the deal was good. I would've gladly waited for a month hoping for a price cut, but I needed a phone soon since i am leaving for Shanghai in a week and I needed a phone before that.

Question: Is this case any good?

Nice purchase mate !!
Certainly made for humans :p

As far as the cases are concern, get a TPU case...much better protection then those el'chepos

I've been using the cell extensively from morning. Here is a short review:

Looks: Personally I find that the phone looks Good. It's not bad, but it's not mind blowingly awesome either. It's pretty good, but lacks the premium look. HTC One X (which I've seen in a show room) more premium than this. The blue color does look better than White for sure.

Feel: For me 4.8 is a bit too big for a phone, 4.3 is perfect for me. So this phone does look a bit big . Having said that, they have done a great job of minimizing waste space (*cough* Xperia S *cough* ). It's very light, pocketable and its easy to hold. One handed operation is easy. However I always have to be extra careful, since the grip isn't 100% on the cell and it can be easily dropped. The slippery surface doesn't help much either. But otherwise it's a pleasure to hold it.

Display: The phone more than makes up for it looks with the awesome display. It looks stunningly beautiful. The display is big and gorgeous .
I was very worried about the reported pink tint on blue model, but luckily I haven't got it. I checked it from all angles in dark condition and there is no issue.
Saw some HD movie trailers and looks amazing. The colors are vivid and very impressive.
Very happy.

Camera: You can judge them yourself. Few pics I have taken:

All of them are on standard setting, without any adjustment. There are of course many fancy setting that can be done, but I am yet to explore it.

I'm impressed. I've taken few videos, and I have no complaints on them.

Performance:The stock TouchWiz UI is quite good, but I liked the minimalistic look of GoLauncher Pro. I've been using that and everything just flies. No lag watsoever.
The browsing on WiFi is great and super fast. Page loads quickly and there is no issue here for me. I've yet to play games like GTA 3 or Shadow gun , so can't comment on that yet.

Call Quality: Clear and loud. There is an EQ for voice quality too, but I don't know how much it'll help. It's quite good by default.
Battery: I've done a great amount of browsing today on WiFi and 3G and here is the stat:

I don't know if it's good or not according to android standard. You guys tell me :)

Bonus: You get 48GB dropbox free with this phone. Plus 3g plan ( #3GB FUP) for vodafone users.

Overall impression till now:Very Satisfied with the purchase. A Bit overpriced, but then there is nothing like this on the market .

Congrats dude :) ... Since your phone has not got pink tint, I'm wondering if it is from May batch or June batch ?? If its from June batch then I'll make sure that i'll get one from that batch only ...

So I played with the S-Voice today. Here is a short overview.

First I told it to tell the current time. Did perfectly.
Then told it to show the time in Dubai. Did perfectly.
Told it to set an alarm for 6am. Did it perfectly.

Then I told it to ' Send a Message to Yashwanth that he's an idiot'. Surprisingly, it recognized it and typed it correctly.
The thing to remember is that you have to say it in one go. If you stop to think about the message, then it won't work . Since it sends the data as soon as the voice input stops.
Nevertheless it was ok, if not practical for long messages.

Then I told it to 'Play me some songs'.
It game a list of songs to play. However , I can't click a song on the list, I have to 'tell' it the name of the song. I found it awkward since selecting of the list would be better. Not to mention speaking the names of hindi songs would not work perfectly.

Now the best part. I first told it to 'Take a pic'. It didn't work. Then i said it even more slowly , it didn't work either. Here is what it recognized it as:

:-D :-D :-D Really an epic fail on it's side. I couldn't stop laughing.

Then I told it to 'Take a Picture' . It said this:

Then I told it to 'Open Camera', then finally it worked.

No excuse for this though:

Overall I think it's Ok, but needs a lot of work. It's not of much practical use right now.
However S-Voice has no personality of it's own unlike maybe Siri. After all it's Android. :-D

And here is a pic taken at a very dark environment :
