Guys,

Anyone using this UL-499 plan...
Currently I am using 250 plan... and i want to upgrate it to 499
please share your comments.

They say its promotional, but it would stay forever IMO. Decent plan for ppl looking for cheap UL plans.

But phone rental is extra(So Rs.500+Rs.120 rental i guess with 50 free calls) unlike the 750 plan where there is an option for Rs.750(phone rent included).

So i feel this takes the charm out of the plan for ppl who are not going to use landlines.

this plan does not include phone rental, which is 180/- for a normal line with 50 calls free. making the total bill to 499 + 180 = 679/- + 10.2% service tax = ~749/- (with 50 free calls)

there is a better plan if you dont have a free landline or special plan, BB Home Combo UL 625, which is the same plan with phone rental included and 100 free calls. [ 625 +10.2% ST= 689 (with 100 free calls)]

Nomenclature |BB Home UL 499* | BB Home Combo UL 625 | BB Home UL 750 | BB Home Combo UL 750

Bandwidth (Download Speed) |256 Kbps|256 Kbps|512 Kbps|512 Kbps

Telephone fixed monthly charges in Rs|As per Existing Landline plan (180)|NIL|As per the existing Landline plan|NIL

Free Calls(MCU) |As per Existing Landline plan(50)|100|As per the existing Landline plan|NIL

Guys,

Thanks for the inputs. But i am currently using the 250 plan with landline plan of 199. Still i have to pay
499 + 180 = 679/- + 10.2% service tax = ~749/- (with 50 free calls) ???
Please confirm

Was really exited when i heard of this plan but now...... :(

yes..499 is only the broadband charges... i.e. replace 250 by 499 in your existing bill. the 625 plan is a combo plan, hence no phone rental.

Yup as Nihit says opt for the 625UL combo. 625 +10.2% ST= 689 (with 100 free calls). U pay Rs.60 less and get 50 free calls more than the 500UL+phone plan.

both plans (499/- and 625) are same and both have u/l usage, except for phone rental..its your call..I would recommend the 625 UL Combo over the 499 plan..as bill will be higher in 499 plan..

Ohh... But i have already landline phone and using 199 plan for landline (Unlimited local calls BSNL-BSNL landline/CellPhone). so i will be paying =199 + 499 + 10.2 tax. Rather than paying 199 + 625 + 10.2 tax.
So i think the 499 plan will be cheaper.

Please correct if i am wrong. :(

Ok.. since 199 plan is a special plan, it cannot be clubbed with the 625 combo plan. If you change to 625UL combo plan, you call rates will change...So in your case, you should go for the 199 + 499 plan, if you wish to stick to the free call to BSNL numbers. :)

Hi friends

it's good to see cheap UL-499 & combo UL -625 plans. But what is actual speed it give?
I have combo 499 (night unlimited + 175 free calls) with speed upto 2MBps but it actually give me downloading speed less than 250KB.

So is it worth to go with these UL plans?

Anyone have checked the download speed of these plans?

the speed is 2Mbps and not 2MBps....... i.e. 2Megabits per second...... which is 2*1024/8 = 256KBps

so u are getting correct speeds only.......

i asked the bsnl guys here , they say 499 /- is for only new connections , that too for 90 days. Existing users cannot avail the 499/- plan
