BSNL download 15-20 kbps speed

Hello All,

I am using BSNL UL 625 PLAN, which claims to provide 512 kbps speed.

but i usually gets 15-20 kbps of download speed.

Please suggest whether it is normal to have such a low speed or BSNL has doing so..

U should be getting close to 80kbps,ask them to check the line also check your snr values in the modem.

In what ways does a 512kbps yields 80kbps ? or even 80kBps even if you went with a typo ??
Theoretical possible download speeds is going to be 512/8 = 64kBps.

Its a different story that the avg speeds on torrents are close to 56kBps and on http the speed is gonna be more but no way it touches 80k(B/b)ps

BSNL 625 plan doesnt provide 512kbps, it provides 256kbps, the download speed will be around 30KB/s when downloading directly through sites. Use a download accelerator to max out your download speed.

UL750 is 512KBps, I suggest you upgrade to that. 125 bucks for double speed.

I used to have that plan and as spacevoid said it is 256 not 512. Go with what compaddict said,u'll get ~60kBps.
