hey everyone...
I wanted to buy a cheap 3g mobile
my requirements are as follows:-
1)Good Decent Brand like(Nokia,samsung.)
2)Nice backup battery
3)Cheap (Below 5k)

i think one cell in the samsung metro series (dunno the exact model no.) is having 3G .. retails for arnd 4.5-4.8 K ! have a look.
EDIT : i think the model is known as Metro 3G.

The Samsung Metro 3G is the one to go for.

Just on a side note, if you plan to buy a cheap 3G phone, do remember that 3G usage is nowhere cheap as of now and you might end up paying more than the price of the cheap cellphone if you decide to use a reasonably good plan.

C2-01 has only UMTS(384 Kbps) so its just slightly faster than Edge and not worth it at all.
Get Sony Ericsson Cedar ~ 4.7k. It has HSDPA, 7.2 Mbps; HSUPA, 2 Mbps

and is the cheapest phone with 7.2Mbps HSDPA IINM.

samsung metro 3g also has front camera for vdo calling which most of the cheap 3g phones dont have and has a more than decent camera ..i have personally used sony cedar and samsung metro 3g both and PQ of samsung >> sony (for these 2 models

)...plus bttr and brighter screen....wuz seeling online for Rs. 4.3 K few days back on ezone website...

The problem is Metro 3G is phased out and hard to spot in online stores

Plus it doenst have a micro USB port or 3.5mm jack

black looks cool with metallic back panel and build quality is solid....3.5 mm jack is a big miss although i dnt miss the micro usb much for the bundled data cable

Sony Ericsson Cedar is pretty nice.
