3G frequency band in india

A lot of people are confused about this, so lets answer this once and for all.

I tried to search for this but could not find a definitive answer.

- What are the 3G band frequencies used by Indian providers..Airtel/BSNL/Vodafone/Docomo/Reliance?

- Someone pointed out its 2100 Mhz, DOES THAT MEAN phones from the US that only support 1900/850MHZ wont work in India with 3G?

BSNL is using 2100
USA phones may not work...... on 2100 coz d 3G freq thr r diff.

^^Okay now its starting to get real confusing:S

Some are saying only units supporting 2100Mhz will work in India for 3G.
Others are saying it doesnt matter what frequency they use, they will all work in India for 3G.

Could more people provide their inputs?

Indian Operators will be using 2100 MHz band for 3G. This means 19XX Mhz for Uplink and 21XX for Downlink (See the correct uplink frequencies used by each operator in India, here http://filter.vulturo.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-o-matic/cache/1fa1b_india3gauctionresultsme.jpg) . You just need a phone supporting 2100 MHz. Now there are two types of bands used by Operators in US. AT&T uses 850/1900/2100 MHz band while T-Mobile uses 1700/2100 MHz band. So, this wouldnt work here for 3G?

Hi guys need a urgent reply. I am planning to buy a LG g Pro 2 from US and these are the frequency bands it supports, can anyone please tell me if i can use 3G and 4G (future) in Chennai in india on Vodafone network. Thanks in Advance.
