AS the title says....1TB HDD Seagate or WD Blue ?
Both r 7200 rpm
seagate offers 3yr warranty
while WD offers 5yrs......
both cost 4100rs/-

but ive seen posts here saying wd have a high failure rate.....

need your opinions guys....

PS- i plan to buy the hdd this week.

Should something go wrong with the drive, are you aware of Seagate's RMA policy in India vis-a-vis WD's? That should have pretty much answered your query. :p

the seagate hdd replacement policy is pretty good. ive got 2 seagate hdd's, both of which have been sent for rma in the past(both have 5yrs warranty). no issues since then

im not aware about wd drives.....

could u please elaborate on that,,,,

WD service is better. Courier pickup and drop
Though Seagate service is not far behind

Are you sure the WD 1TB drive you are quoted is Blue and not Green
If the latter, get Seagate 1TB without a hitch

Seagate's RMA policy explained here!

Whereas for WD, all you need to do is have the details of your drive verified online and submit an RMA application. You will have the drive picked up by the courier service and sent to WD, New Delhi. A replacement drive's sent after about a week to 10 days' time and the courier drops it at your doorstep.
