any idea where to get a new battery and how much it would cost?
how would you rate the chances of it surviving a trip to Calicut, Kerala?
 
AFAIK This is an MSI Wind rebadged just like the median akoya etc. The battery from the Wind should work. You can probably flash it to Wimd Bios too.
