Amazon India lightning deals

I Didn't know Amazon does price matching.
Happened with me last year around March

Wanted to buy Galax Buds Pro (was using an Android back then) but it never went below 8k and i did not want to wait for any proper sale like Prim Day
So almost everyday i used to check the price on amzn and one day i was bored and checked (in the morning) the price on the earphones on samsung website and found that it was cheaper than amzn

Later in the evening i had to buy some stuff on amzn and while checking out i saw that the price of the Galax Buds were same as samsung's website and there was a 10% discount on top of that.

Broken link
Guess I removed too many query parameters ;)

How is this deal guys:

Intel NUC 7 Essential Mini PC - BOXNUC7CJYSAMN with Windows 11 Celeron 4005, 4GB DDR4 RAM /64GB eMMc @ 11.9k

I do have spare SSDs I can put into this along with 8GB of RAM. Need it for the simplest of tasks and keeping a HDD or two attached via USB to it and shared over my home network.
You missed it for 5k recently -
Even now its much more cheaper there.

^^ Thanks guys... thanks a ton!!

Yes I missed that 5k deal but 7.9k is still such a sweet deal!!! I'm getting one... it's my Birthday month so shopping allowed :joyful:

Btw, how good are these for simple tasks like browsing the internet, attaching external HDD's (via powered USB hub) over a network, listening to music.

Basic tasks should be fine as long as you don't open too many browser tabs. It has 4 GB RAM so you should add one more to make it at least 8 GB. As long you keep the performance expectations low, it should be fine.

Sounds good!

Regarding upgrading the RAM to 8GB: This NUC unit only comes with 1 slot for RAM right? So, I need to get a single 8GB stick of RAM (DDR4-2400 1.2V SO-DIMM) to upgrade it?

Not good for basic desktop use. These Celerons are garbage for browsing and are only good for CLI use. Some basic hosting/file server like purpose.
For reference a 3rd gen i3 mobile CPU is like 40-50% better.

Flipkart review mention processor often hit 100% usage which may be due to win 10/11 quirks & its driver issues.

That's fine... I won't be doing anything heavy on this. Mostly will be plugging 2-3 external HDD's to it via an attached powered USB hub and sharing those drives over my network at home on other systems.

So, for sharing files over a network via attached HDD's to it should be fine right? Maybe even use it as a download rig of sorts.

@Black_Hawk

It is coming @5k every couple of days on flipkart.

Ubuntu 22 runs very fine but Youtube even 1080p lags on it.

Both Cores can run at 2.9Ghz.

file share and couple of services are fine on it.

Overall its double fast than Rpi in single core and 30% faster in multi core. Very much cheaper for complete unit against Rpi.

Recommended at 5k only.

Did you upgrade the RAM to 8GB? That might help in making the experience a tad smoother.

No RAM upgrade, even if you do the processor is too weak for videos, RAM was 50% usage only but still youtube lags.

But if you plan to run it as a plex server, it will rock at it.

Best Youtube runs on chromium as per my exp.

Windows 11 exp was horrible, so I have installed Ubuntu 22 on a SSD.
