A direct sequel to Splinter Cell: Conviction, titled Splinter Cell: Blacklist, is rumoured to be up for reveal at this year's E3. Although yet to be officially confirmed by Ubisoft, the existence of the next title in the franchise has been known ever since Jade Raymond offhandedly mentioned it would be developed entirely at the new Ubisoft Toronto studio. Blacklist is said to make a return to Sam's original appearance, with no grey hair, full body suit, and night goggles, and is aiming for a January 2013 release.

--------.

Was a big fan of conviction! Can't want for this one :D

This is incredible news indeed! I just hope they bring back the greatness of the Splinter Cell series like it was in Chaos Theory. I replayed the first 3 games so many times I've lost count, including trying speed-runs of levels after watching videos on Youtube. :)

Chaos Theory! That was the the last true Splinter Cell game that came out. I hope this one raises the bar.

Wait, so you loved Conviction? The game barely had any stealth elements so to say. Not to mention, ridiculously short!

I actually did. Don't like super long/uninteresting games. The game was modernised. Though it surely felt a lot different after completing Double Agent. I Like short and sweet games! :p

Dont even for a moment think that the next SC will reach the benchmark set by chaos theory, all the modern FPS and TPS now rely on Hollywood cinematics and uberly simple gameplay.all iam saying is dont expect too much. :p

Chaos Theory was the Best!
Although i liked Conviction too but just because of it was short. :p But still it was okay

Conviction is a total action package. It was not meant to be a stealth game. Therefore it should not be compared to the older titles.

@Gannu: Just saw the trailer. Sam's voice sounded distinctly different, its definitely not Michael Ironside's voice is it?

What's with the whole Assassin's Creed style traversing? Looks action packed nonetheless. Looks like companies are focusing more on making the game more cinematic rather than sticking to their old roots.

Some new concepts implemented. Looking pretty solid.

Btw, I can't remember which game I have seen aiming like this before, but I'm pretty sure I've have played a game before with a similar aiming technique (where you can a select a few targets and then have the main character execute in a quick action sequence). Does anyone remember which game it was?
