presently have a 400 watts(12V/Amps Powersafe), but comp hangs/restarts/freezes (Prescott 2.8e HT, 865GBF, 6600GT, 2HDDS, DVD writer, COMBO cd/dvd,2 80mm fans, Vantac HSF)

but when i replace the Prescott with my old & trusted P4 2 ghz CPU, the
comp gives no trouble at all!

Maybe a 500 watts Psu might power/stabilise the Prescott sufficiently

Hence WTB a 500 watts zebby/powersafe/vantac psu

Iam no techie....but if u get Powersafe get 500w one and make sure you get the OEM of L&C...Maybe a case of bad apples bur lot of Powersafew come with VIP OEM and they increased my temp like hell until I go Powersafe with L&C OEM...

thnks for the head-up on powersafe "L & C".my present 400w powersafe is
"L & C"; & am aware of the fact that VIP OEM r not that efficient.

i understand zebby has a 540w model & vantec a 480w.anyone has a second
hand Psu of these for sale?

bump..

budget for the PSU is max 1.5k for powersafe 500w & 2k for the vantec 460W/zebby 540W zebby(skyhawk) max 2k

What are the ratings of your Powersafe, If it is the same one as i have, then it should be more than sufficient to power your rig.

My Power ratings do not shift more than 3% at all at load when overclocked to 2.55 Ghz.

CPU Core 1.46 V
voltage value in Everest r as follows:(for the P4 2 ghz cpu)

+1.5 V 1.46 V
+3.3 V 3.23 V
+5 V 5.16 V
+12 V 12.19 V

r these ok? i have removed the prescott as i was having problems(although heat issue was solved by the vantec HSF + AS5)
