Wireless Router for a Noob

hello Guys im pretty new with wireless routers and with networkin part

so please help me with my queries

1)i need a router which shares the internet connection between my PC and laptop(DELL studio 15)
my internet connection is a cable thing without any modem i dont know what you call it:ashamed:

currently im connecting this cable to INTEL pro 100/VE network adapter in my pc

2)i will also use this internet in my PSP

3)i dont know if i am asking in the right way or not but i must be able to play a game in LAN between my pc and laptop(does this depend on my internet speed?)

please help me with my noobish queries

budget 2k and ill be using it only for my home (1700 Sq ft)

Last I checked, it should be within or near your budget as well.
