Hi guys,

I want to buy Samsung Galaxy551 phone here at b'lore tomorrow.

but from which shop/dealer should i buy from?

Are there any offers coz of Pongal festival? :p
btw, is The Mobile Store price (Rs. 12819) good?

near ulsoor/ unity building/ raja rajeshwari nagar (or on the way to RR nagar from ulsoor :D )

apart from the screen resolution, 551 is really good comapred to Nokia C6 :D

One of my friend is thinking of buying the galaxy 551?
so how is the performance of the phone , did you feel any lag while using the phone ?
How is the touch screen feel,display and how comfortable is qwerty in normal usage?

1. performance is quite okay

2. lag is not present in normal usage, camera, gallery, music player, opera/default browser, maps.

3. lag kicks in the Angry Birds game, but only in higher levels (lotsa pigs in screen :p )

4. very responsive touch screen

5. qwerty is also good, very comfy

6. awesome Gps reception - my dad's n97 fails to detect satellite from my room, but this 551 does it effortlessly.

7. worth 12k

8. google mail + contacts integration/sync = awesomeeeee (not mobile specific, but still ... :p)

9. accelerometer effects in gallery - if you tilt the phone sideways, the photos kind of tilt/move too

10. pinch zoom :clap:

Complaints -
1. bluetooth & windows 7 pairing
although both get paired, but transfer doesnt work, going thru 30+ forums threads, i understand it is a Android + Samsung issue :p

2. antenna placed at lower back, when i take the mobile just 8feet away from modem, the wifi signal gets weaker. (maybe UI bug)

3. sliding is not as smooth as N97

4. dont expect Nokia's build quality.

5. worthless piece of shit Samsung Kies PC Suite :mad:

6. Windows 7- Still no Device Stage integration :no:

7. not yet experienced - reviews saying poor batt. backup
