Which one of these two would you suggest. Use case is mostly office related stuff, occasional OTT and no gaming. Battery life, weight being less, are priorities.
First of all, the H class processors have higher TDPs and are meant to used for demanding tasks like rendering, gaming and stuff related to that. On top of that it's built on the 10nm node. That IdeaPad is clearly advertised as game ready and the OEM expects users to pair it with an eGPU.
The Thinkpad is powered by a u series Ryzen 5 manufactured on a 7nm node. It's going to be more power efficient any day compared to the H class processor in the IdeaPad.
That ThinkPad wins in both departments. The IdeaPad weighs 1.46 Kg where as the ThinkPad weighs 1.41 Kg.
Below is the battery runtime test from the same ThinkPad series laptop shipped with a better processor i.e. Ryzen 7 7730U. Battery life is solid on this one. And with a less powerful R5, you should get equal if not better than what the stats show below.
P.S. I understand that Intel's 10nm matches AMD's 7nm in package efficiency but that Ryzen 5 7530u is the clear winner in this context.
