Setting up Asus WL-520gU

Hi guys,

All problems solved and everything seems to be working fine. One last doubt.....what is the procedure to turn off the HDD and router? Should i stop all services running and then switch off the HDD (i have an off button on my HDD case) and then turn off the router or VICE VERSA?

I don't want to simply unplug the power to the router. Is there any easy way to make sure the hard drive is safe to unplug?

Thanks for your help.

Do not turn off the power to the router directly.. I have created a method to safely shutdown the router so that there is no adverse effect on the connected discs. Read about it here Easiest Way to Shutdown Asus WL-500W | Shantanu's Technophilic Musings

Midnight commander is already installed. I followed the following steps to remove watchdog script:

1) Login into the router using telnet 192.168.1.2
2) Entered command mc and press enter (Screen shot attached)
3) Entered command cd /etc and press enter (Screen shot attached)
4) Entered command ls and press enter (Screen shot attached)
5) As per the instructions pressed any key and i cam back to etc directory
6) Entered command rm watchdog and got an error (Screen shot attached)

Pls tell me whats going wrong.

Thanks

now it seems that the cron directories have not been setup. maybe it may be a good idea to rm optware and reinstall it. i hope you are using frater's script
