Like the mobo I linked can potentially handle an R9 5950X with some UV with ease whereas a 10k B660 mobo will overheat VRMs for even a 125W CPU (check Hardware Unboxed VRM testings). For reference i5 14600K draws close to 180W & R9 5950X also draws something similar. In future, if you feel like you need more performance for cheap, buy a used 5950X, upgrade cooler to AG620 & maybe upgrade RAM to 64GB, will be a solid rig without spending too much.</p><p></p><p>For both productivity & gaming in this performance class & budget, DDR5 RAM is a waste of money. My personal rig is i5 12400 + 3070 with 32GB DDR4 RAM, for reference, built for gaming & WFH.</p><p></p><p>Check reviews & other videos by Hardware Unboxed & Gamers Nexus for research purposes if you don't trust me on anything I said above.
