The limiting factor for any P2P DL is the speed which your ISP is providing. With the type(s) of throughput your line will create it will hardly matter if you use a public tracker or a private tracker as long as seeds are the same. You start to see differentials in speeds when you are on lines greater than or equal to 1Mbps. The true benefit is 'availability' of content. Many times you might not find stuff on public trackers, but private trackers usually throw up a productive search with decent seeders. Also on private trackers you are usually guaranteed clean content which has been verified. Also before the tracker DL you can read about format/size/source/subtitles/screen shots/various other helpful comments. Most of the times video content have a sample as a part of the DL package which is nice. :) Ratio..? Depends on which type of tracker you are on. Some are ratio free, and some mandate it. If it requires a ratio you ideally need 1:1 and below 0.3-0.2 gets you auto-banned. Seeding is advisable -- even if on ratio free, only way to give back to the community, unless you want to make a $$ donation. Suggestion: Since you have a low BW line, not many people will want to give you an invite to a private tracker. Do not take this in a negative way, but it takes immense patience and 'hard work' to get a decent ratio. Keep a view in the P2P sections and people post when private trackers are up for sign-up.
