Hello Dear TE member

I am looking for a laptop within budget of 30 to 40 k for a family member.
Or as cheap as possible

Main usage

Office and home applications
Some light gaming is possible
Should be updated friendly so we can add more RAM or upgrade ssd
15 inch or bigger screen and full keyboard
Sometime dual boot with linux like Ubuntu or mint
If I get DDR5 that would be good
Backlit keyboard

Please suggest some good option

I can wait for any upcoming sale or new gen tech to come in couple of weeks to one one month.

Thanks

For some reason, 40-50k laptops with 15.6" screens have a TN panel & many times lack backlit KB but 14" variants of the same laptops have an IPS panel with backlit KB.

Best performer under 40k but no IPS panel.

I will recommend this 14" one instead:
Have purchased it for a relative, good enough for under 40k.

If you want 15" IPS panel, sadly no backlit KB, and can wait 3 weeks, get this:
Customise it with R3 7320U CPU, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, IPS display, better WiFi card & bigger battery for 38.6k. No OS, so will have to take care of it on your own. Soldered RAM, hence recommend 16GB, doubt you will need more than that. No extra M.2 slot, most likely, so will have to replace already installed SSD if you want larger one.
