I-Phone buying advice

Hi Guys,
I want to buy factory unlocked i-phone,which one should i buy 3gs or 4.
I want to keep it for 3-4yrs,then plan to sell it.

A few questions are on my mind::

What will the price drop projected for both of them??
And how much it should cost me ??
Should buy an old or new one??
Does Iphone 4 has much advantage over 3gs??

1. Price drop will be not much but yes it will drop after the Win7 and DesireHD reaches India.

2.16GB version will cost you 40-45k

3. Obviously the New one.

Selling a 3-4 yrs phone I guess you may get half (or is that too optimistic) of the original price?

Aditya aka RamPagE is selling a new factory unlocked iphone 4 16GB for 39k and a new factory unlocked 3GS 8GB for around 25k. Just bought another iphone 4 today. Will buy another 3GS for a friend this week.

Unless you know someone in UK, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Canada or Australia, you won't get an iphone at a cheaper price in India.

Price drop graph for 3GS and 4 should be similar so you can buy either, loss percentage will remain same.

You should buy a new one, it makes a lot more sense.

If you use 3GS having never seen or used 4, there should be no problem, but in every way 4 is better.

Iphone 3G started at around 32k IIRC, 2 1/2 years ago, and is now selling at around 12-14k.

Iphone 3GS started around 32-36k for 16GB and 36-40k for 32GB, 1 1/2 years ago. They now sell at 22k and 24k respectively.

Factory unlocked phones demand a premium of 1-2k when selling.
