Connecting two laptops for LAN Gaming

Me and my roomie both have Acer Aspire 4530 laptop. We don't have any net connection. We want to set up a LAN to play games. Network port is available and so is WiFi. But we don't want any internet, just gaming on the lan or wireless lan. What things are required to set it all up?

Setup a home network using either a crossover cable directly connecting the laptops or buy a 2/4 port hub and connect all 3 devices using normal ethernet cable. Thats all as far as hardware accessories are concerned.

Played CS on this connection...

I suggest a D-Link ethernet crossover cable !

Or you guys can setup a adhoc wifi network. ( google it )

adhoc wifi is the way to go!

Adhoc is unreliable, cable will be the best..

thanks guys. adhoc wifi worked. its the cheapest option:hap2:
data transfer, AOE 2, UT 2K4, CS:CZ and POCKET TANKS DEMO :clap: all worked via LAN.
