Ok, just got news that my sis and/or her friends will be going to China (Shanghai to be specific) in a week.
I just want to know is it ok to buy any stuff (especially HDD based mp3 player, and a high-end mobile phone) from there.
i could buy it in Burma Bazaar (here in chennai), but one can be equally unsure about the quality..?
If you guys say its OKAY to buy stuff in China, i might also buy stuff for my friends too..
Give your reasons too please.. Also have any of you guys bought stuff from there (not Made In China stuff, but stuff FROM china... i'm asking this as they may be exporting only the best of their goods)

EDIT: Just remembered, a professor at my college bought a 4gb USB drive (fake Sony i think) from China about a year back for like $150..
Was working well, but she had to format it for the first time last week (since it has suffered a lot of abuse
i.e, i believe due to unplugging during data transfer)
