That's right, Western Digital is preparing for the launch of the new Raptor which will be available in two flavors: Gamer Edition and Server Edition. It's still unknown what the differences between the two will be but just know that they are coming! With any luck in the first quarter of '06.

Here's the preliminary specs...

Capacity: 150Gb

Interface: SATA2 w/ NCQ

i think these are already on sale somewhere... chaos pointed me to a link a while ago

i dont know anything when it comes to HDDs so in what way is this better than regular SATA 7200 rpm other than the rpm value itself? or should i say, what are the factors that one should look for when buying a hard disk and why?

I am gonna keep my eyes set on 36GB Raptors (mostly as RAID 0).... so dat My Hitachi's are only storage in Tension free Raid 1.
