Confused between asus zyphrus g14 2021 1440p ,5900hs rtx3050ti vs asus zyphrus g14 2022 1080p, 6800hs, 6700s.

Preference in this order 1) screen for media consumption( 2) 7 hrs youtube video playback battery 3) casual aaa playable gaming(60 fps works)

Both cost same .

The newer one no doubt. 1080p vs 1440p at 14" is not that big of a difference, but the 6700S will last MUCH longer than the 3050Ti in terms of being able to play 1080p AAA titles. The 3050Ti is not good for 1440p AAA gaming even today, let alone in the future. Both laptops will give you 7hrs yt playback easily, and the 1080p G14 screen is pretty good for media consumption. In fact, the 1080p screen will easily last at least 30mins-1.25hrs or so longer than the 1440p one as higher resolution eats more battery, along with being harder to achieve higher fps for games.

I have seen friend's 1440p laptop, but size was 15.6". I couldn't perceive any difference vs my 1080p laptop unless I pixel peep. After moving to a 27" 1440p monitor, I can sometimes see low ppi of 24" 1080p monitor. I know laptop displays are much closer than a monitor would, but still.

Also, the 1440p panel will negatively affect battery life, maybe by 10-20% or so.

As mentioned earlier, get 6800H + 6700S as it performs better as well. Don't have any numbers, but IMO it will outperform or be the same as 80W 3060 present in older G14.

What's the price BTW?

Just get the 6700S one. Its performance is a bit behind full power 3060, so good for a 14" device. I will consider 1440p a con for laptops & phones because of hit on battery life. For 17", maybe 1440p would be nice to have.
