my sister dropped her redmi 1s and broke the display.
Xiaomi Mumbai is quoting her 7.5k to replace the display. Xiaomi Bangalore quotes 3.5 k, but there is no way we can get the phone from Mumbai to Bangalore.
plus they are not sure on how long this will take.

Same here, I am facing same experience in Pune, they told me 4.7k for replacing display of Redmi 1s.

Need more service centers in India.
 
I am sure we can challenge this 'higher prices for spares' problem in consumer court.
Redmi 1s has been selling at the rate of 6K and without rebates/subsidies.
They can't force consumers to pay hefty amounts for spares.
