Only 3000mah battery on a 6" phone?? Say what??

Could be because it might threaten the sale of the A2 since the A2 Lite appear to have more desirable features for Indians.

Indeed it is. Same as Mi A1 was Mi 5X there.

Most of the reviewers are pointing out many issues with this phone..

Links please. Only saw "no SD card", "no headphone jack" and "battery capacity", may not be issues for many people.

A year old SoC. No 3.5mm ... What a downer!

Crucial difference being Mi 5X & 6X are not Android one.

What then about updates and stock UI ?

+ Only 3000mah battery in a freaking 5.99" phone. The lack of serious interests online is not surprising.

    Look at the price too!
Also 636 became mainstream only with the Redmi Note 5 Pro

Add to that power hungry (compared to SD 625) SD 636.

People who will buy this will cry for a charger very frequently.

This is becoming quite regular, usage of last gen SoC for non-flagship phones. I assume that the companies don't know what to do with old SoCs lying around and OEMs not accepting back the unused stock. Its high time phones go the desktop type of modularity, instead of SoC, the procy that you can slip inside phone just like a sim card, same with Ram. ;-)

Google already tried that. And failed.
Look up Google Project Ara. It was cancelled.
