Which Vape Brand To Use??

Hi Guys,
I have been a smoker for almost 12 years now and feel that I need to quit or at least cut down on my smoking habit which is almost 14-15 Gold Flake Kings every day.

I haven't seen too many of my colleagues who are smokers use vapes but I feel that its safer to switch to a vape for my nicotine fix sans the tar.

I was looking at this article (https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2018/05/14/the-promise-of-vaping-and-the-rise-of-juul) and this option seems like a good brand to me considering the vapes I see in Park Street are from a multitude of brands I know nothing about.

Can you guys point me to a vape device and liquid keeping in mind that I am a normal Gold Flake Kings afficionado.

There are many good brands avaliable (SMOK/JOYTECH/KENGERTECH) but for starter I would say get a starter kit with a tank that can do Mtl (mouth to lung the way you smoke) but can also get the DL Kit (Direct lung the way hukkas are).

As for the nicotine crib u can start with 6mg and can later cut down to 3mg.

There is a famous India vapers group on FB can join this group there are plenty of members which will help u with all your queries.

Also buy the kit from AliExpress or Fasttech they have some pretty decent vape kits.

Thanks .I went to the site you suggested and OMG!!!:eek:
The amount of stuff I need to learn for vaping seems daunting. On top of that I am not on FB.

I am planning to get this one-

https://www.fasttech.com/products/3...thentic-joyetech-ego-one-2200mah-rechargeable

As for the refills which brand should I go for keeping in mind that Gold Flake Kings has slightly more than 10mg?

It's just the biggening [emoji6] there is a long way to go if u become serious about vaping.

As for the starter kit had personally used that kit and it can do both DL as well as MTL but it's a pretty old model 2 years or so.

If just want the MTL thing check this one it's the latest.

https://m.fasttech.com/p/9643548

As for nic I would still say start with 6mg and then decide if u want 12mg or can firsther reduce it to 3mg. Also 12mg is fine with Mtl and is a big NO if you want to do Direct lung.

There is a a India vapes forum link below can join that also.

Has there been any ban on import of e-cigarettes of late? I am looking to get a use and throw one just for trying out. Will it be confiscated by customs?
It's a 10 dollar product. Wanted to confirm before placing the order. Any inputs appreciated

A lot of my friends have gone through this exercise. My 2 cents, get a juul as i feel it is the most convenient and does not require the user to get into details. Its purposefully built for exactly OP's use case.

P.S. One of my friends, a smoker for 10+ years has completely stopped regular cigarettes ever since he got his juul.

Where does he source it from?

Should I trust this site?

The device can be purchased anywhere as I haven’t seen fakes that are not easily identifiable yet.

However you must be careful about buying authentic refill cartridges as they are flooded on places like AliExpress. I suspect a lot of Indian resellers May opt for that route to make a quick buck.

My friend has a dealer in Mumbai that sells cartridges for 1600. The mango flavor is 1700 but the best in my opinion. He may also stock devices. You can pm me and I’ll get the details for you.

Cartridges typically last a little over a week for a pack a day users. So this may essentially also end up saving you money in the long term.

Congratulations on your efforts to help your habit and best of luck!

Thanks buddy. Placed an order for a Juul Starter kit at www.houseofvape.in for 5299 bucks

I am based out of Kolkata so I might not be able to deal with your supplier.
So when you say cartridge you mean to say that a 4-pack set of pods(2k at this site for Mango Nectar) lasts 1 week or one pod alone last over a week?
I smoke a 20 pack of Gold Flake Kings per day which is 300x7=2100 per week.
Even if the 4 pack lasts a week it is VFM for me.

There are reliable sellers on this group - https://www.facebook.com/groups/TheGreatIndianVapingCommunity/

They also have their own forum which has lots of articles and helpful members for new vapers in India.
Thanks for the suggestion but I never created my profile on FB. People used to be weirded out by my privacy fanaticism but now they are waking upto the consequences though.

Juul seems a bit more expensive in terms of pod pricing. How different is it in flavor and vapor compared to a revenger for example?

Cant say anything about the Revenger but one Juul pod worked for almost over 1.5 days for me which is almost 30 Gold Flake Kings for me. So going by 450 bucks for 30 Kings and 1700 for 4 pods I would say its about the same.

So far out of the assorted flavour pod pack I have used up the Mint on and moved on to Virginia tobacco. The mint was useless in terms of flavour but all pods give the strong nicotine hit. The Virginia tobacco tastes like a rougher marlboro Red i.e. non-roasted tobacco which is not really my cup of tea. But I will have to say strong pulls on this one brought about a few coughs which is understandable considering the Char Minar-esque flavour.

Got the JUUL starter kit today from http://www.houseofvape.in
I gotta say it feels pretty good to a standard (i.e. no lights) smoker like me. This stuff is strong.
Only thing to see now how long the pods last.
JUUL was meant to be just that, a no nonsense alternative for the regular smoker who doesn't want to get his/her hands dirty with mods, tanks, coils and juices right from the onset. But if you want to experiment with flavors or change/reduce the nicotine strength over a period of time, which is the aim of most smokers who switch to vaping, there is not much you can do with a Juul. Yes they have introduced 3% strength pods recently but only in few of the flavors. Another advantage of Juul is that it helps in discreet or stealth vaping in public places, owing to the size of the device and the less vapor production.

With open devices and e-juice you get to modify your nicotine strength over a period of time and choose from 3mg, 6mg, 12mg upto even 18 and 24mg per ml. Also the range of flavors available in the juices is virtually unlimited and the juices are pretty cheap in the long run. Then there is the VG/PG ratio you can play with and nicotine salt juices, for the throat hit and type of device, but I won't get into that now. If you don't want to go in for a mod and tank setup and want an experience similar to Juul, there are refillable pod devices like the Aspire Breeze 2 or Smok Infinix (same form factor as Juul) which can be as discreet. The Breeze 2 is a bit more versatile though. There are tobacco flavor based juices as well, which appeal to the regular smoker who is new to vaping (Black Note is one which I still use to this date intermittently for my cigarette fix).

Juul seems a bit more expensive in terms of pod pricing. How different is it in flavor and vapor compared to a revenger for example?
The flavor is not that great if you compare it to DTL or even MTL tanks. Its more for the throat hit and nicotine fix for regular smokers, as the pods are nicotine salt based. The vapor production is also less (understood for a low wattage device) and it seems to be a high PG juice going by the throat hit and vapor.

Thanks. Sorry for missing that in the earlier post. Signed up there but seems like thats a full on enthusiast forum like techenclave and I am an absolute noob when it comes to vaping jargon.
No doubt if you are a newbie, but members on both the FB group and the forum do help out a lot with all queries and doubts, so ask away. There are tutorials one can go through as well to familiarize with the vaping jargon. One can also get good deals from the sellers and dealers on there, if one is switching to vaping for good.

used a Juul but finally settled on a suorin drop
I would still rate the Juul better but sourcing the pods is a bit too difficult in India for it to serve as a viable replacement for sticks

I have also spent plenty of time of full blown VV/VW mods (that I started with) and all sorts of tanks including a bunch of RTA and a couple of RDAs but eventually found refillable pod systems like the suorin drop combined with 2.5-3% Nic salt liquids to be the best balance

Using a refillable pod works out much cheaper too for 90% of the convenience of a a Juul
Having said that, I would switch full time to the Juul the day they become locally available

Also, I think I would have stuck to RTAs if I were a student/in my early 20s

You use this kit?

BTW if I were looking for 5% strength Nic salt e-juice then which one do you think is a good choice?

Yup.. That's The one... But check if pod replacements are available. I picked like 25 replacements on a recent trip so covered for 6 months
If not, I've heard good things about the breeze 2 as well.

As for liquids, try see if you can get 25mg as 50 gets a bit much on anything other than a juul
As for flavors, it's very subjective so you'll have to the trial n error route but I think simple combinations like strawberry mint or single flavors like Mango work best for me
