The fastest flash drive I have seen is the jumpdrive triton read/write speeds 168/105 MB/s

There is a comparison of all of the best usb 3.0 16GB flash drives as well.

The winner was the jumpdrive 780 with read/write speeds of 170/40 - this was the best value drive, not the fastest.

The Sandisk Cruzer Blade is known for its pathetic write speeds but this little one gave me a surprise! Check it out:

My last Sandisk Cruzer Blade 8GB gave me 3.295MB/Sec write speeds. I wonder what Sandisk did to the newer drives!

NTFS formatted; tested using an extension cable on a USB 3.0 port on the Asus P8-Z77 V Pro board.

Real world tests: A 9.01 GB .mkv file took approx. 1 minute and 43 seconds to be copied into the pen drive from a hard drive. The same file took only 52 seconds to be copied onto the desktop (advantage Samsung 840 Pro!). This thing is really fast!

Shall post the results on a USB 2.0 port later.

BTW your FAT32 benchies were quite a bit faster in random writes. Not sure about the impact of different file systems on flash drives. Any ideas? Maybe block size?

I posted just the NTFS screenshot since there wasn't much of a difference in the speeds.
