you need to do that in grub or somewhere else. i think it was mentioned in one of the links i gave few posts up. vlc might give black screen since it will be same as using with dri_prime=1 written before it.
 
Run it with that command and go to VLC settings. In video output, change the output to vdpau or something else which will give you proper video playback without stutter etc.

How to open a file in the file explorer of 18.04 on single click of the mouse ? I know by default it is double click but where is the settings to enable it ?

Where is the 'On-Board' the most useful On Screen Keyboard ?
