Audio Planning to repair my damaged speakers all by myself..

I have altec lancing 2.1 speakers which stopped working recently due to power surge issue( guessing) so I am planning to fix it myself for knowledge purpose . but right I don't where to begin with ,with no electronics background its quite difficult to figure out.. I checked the circuit boards ..everything looks new and fine..no sign of burning or melting.. some suggestions and instructions from you guys would be of great help..

Have you tried opening the speakers? May be some solder might have came off pcb contact.

Check the power supply first. If the power supply is through a separate adopter, then you can change the adopter & try. Otherwise, the inbuilt transformer has to be checked first

Is there a fuse? Checked whether the transformer is alright?

I'll be checking transfomer and let u guys know..,but first ill have to find which one is transformer ..and how do I check if the transformer is working or not...I am still a noob in this field.

U don't have to check it but a local tv radio repair technician. He will only be able to tell u whats wrong.
