Storage Solutions Need to install a hard drive in the optical drive bay

Hi,
I have a 24x7 download rig housed in a iBall Nettop cabinet
http://www.homeshop18.com/iball-ato.../computer-components/product:221437/cid:4197/

This cabinet has space for 1 3.5 inch HDD and a 5.25 inch optical drive bay.

Currently I have a 3.5" 2 TB Seagate HDD and a LG DVD RW drive in the optical bay.

Since I am running out of storage and I need to mirror my movie collection (around 3.4 TB) which are housed in external drives due to anxiety about failure I got myself a 4 TB WD Red NAS drive (WD40EFRX)
https://paytm.com/shop/p/wd-4-tb-in...top-wd40efrx-STOWD-4-TB-INTEONLI4306126ACED44

Now I will have to install the 4 TB HDD in my cramped download rig and I am planning to swap out the 5.25" DVD RW drive (which is rarely used nowadays) and install the 4 TB HDD in it via an adapter.

I have a Gigabyte J1800N-D2H motherboard which has only 2 SATA ports
http://www.gigabyte.in/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4881#sp

I searched in Amazon,FK and eBay but couldn't find a basic 5.25 to 3.5 inch adapter. Can you guys point me towards one which comes within a reasonable price?

Thanks In Advance

Searched high and low in Chandni Chowk Area in Kolkata and the people have no clue as to what I am talking about.:p
I had to explain in every shop I went to.

This one is perfect but at 3.3k is too costly. As per customer reviews it can hold a 3.5 HDD without any issues

This one is cheaper but it is a 5.25 to 3.5 inch Floppy drive adapter.I had a floppy drive in my first machine way back in 2003 and I don't remember if the screw hole placement is the same as in a 3.5" HDD i.e. if it will hold a 3.5 inch HDD perfectly.
I raised the question in amazon and waiting for somebody to reply. But it will take around 1 month to reach me which is too damn long.

What you need is a 5.25 to 3.5 mounting bracket. If you dont get it, just drill holes in bottom of the drive bay and screw the HDD in.

This is a very good option actually. Thanks boss.
If I can't buy something I will have to do that but I don't have anything to drill with. Will try though on Saturday with a screw driver :([DOUBLEPOST=1452189056][/DOUBLEPOST]Got two of these.

The shipping estimate is 3-6 working days.

Does anybody have any idea about the service quality deltapage when it comes to deliveries?

I remeber that I used Deltapage before FK/Amazon etc. to get an idea of the market price before hitting the stores and this forum is where I heard its name first..:finger:

I have this stuff http://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B00...qid=1452184922&ref_=sr_1_8&s=computers&sr=1-8
Was given to me by friend. He had 4-5 of those and his company threw them in scrap and he kept one aside for me.
The one which I have it got lock and key just like our door locks.

So currently I'm using it just as for external hdd.

But WARNING!! dont rely it much as it doesnt supply pure power power to your hdd hence you end up with hdd sounds internally.

But for occasional usage it is ok.[DOUBLEPOST=1452237029][/DOUBLEPOST]And I have 9 hdds lying around (5 in usage and 4 idle) so I will be getting a new cabinet rather than such jugaads. Hence opened a new cabinet thread as well.
I want to play neat and clean though.;)

That thing is too expensive.

What do you mean by power?
I will be connecting a flat power cable and a SATA cable to the HDD.Does this adapter have something else?

I have 2 SSDs in my gaming rig and I have these adapters that you mentioned. However these are SSD adapters to fir 9.5 mm height 2.5 inch SSDs in a 3.5 inch HDD slot.

I need a 5.25 to 3.5 adapter as the cabinet for my download rig is a super compact box with only 1 HDD and 1 DVD RW slot..;)

It locally costs around 1k or 1.2 max.
Power as in this rack doesnt power your hdd optimally as it should as you connect the sata power to the rack which then power your hdd via its circuit attached sata power which is unreliable and doesnt provide pure 12v.

The disk read and write speed is also bit slow comparatively. So if you copy to this drive it will take 5 mins whereas to another internal drive it might take less than 3mins.

Is this adapter a hot swappable one i.e. the SATA and power go in from inside the PC and the adapter then exposes a power and SATA port which will fit with the Hard drive ports when the hard drive is pushed in from the front?

This functionality is not needed for me as this new Hard drive will be a permanent fixture in my PC and I don't need the functionality for easy swapping.
A mounting bracket will suffice and the Hard drive connectors will be attached directly to the PSU and Mobo.

I got a headache explaining this requirement to every shop I went to.Now I am hoping that the adapter ordered from Deltapage to work.

Hot swappable - This is a feature that you can use even with SATA HDDs, just make the disk offline in the disk managment and you are good to go.

This is something similar which I got

Only difference is that my enclosures has a sliding flap while these mentioned ones have got openable front flap/panel.
