I run freshtomato, so the rating is taking into account the expanded featureset it provides (I loadbalance two connections, run a file server, and have a couple of virtual wireless networks for IoT devices).

The hardware version of this router is fairly new (V2) so not many negative review about this version yet, there was some heating issue tbh in the beginning but after some 1/2 firmware updates that heating issue is almost gone, although I had to use a cardboard box to prop it up for ventilation and airflow, it doesn't heat up as badly as it did when I got it in the beginning. An extra feature of this one is the removal of muti-band being shown in the wifi list by a thing called smart connect i.e. only one connection is shown but it is both 2.4 ghz and 5 ghz enabled, it is upto your device to select which band it wants, only downside is the channel width (20mhz) for both bands else its quite a fun to use router
