Hi,

I am planning to build a gaming rig and also for data analytics. Please find below the relevant options and suggest any changes.

  1. What is your budget?
    • 75K
  2. What is your existing hardware configuration (component name - component brand and model)
    • Benq Monitor - 24 inch
  3. Which hardware will you be keeping (component name - component brand and model)
    • Benq Monitor - 24 inch
  4. Which hardware component are you looking to buy (component name). If you have already decided on a configuration then please mention the (component brand and model) as well, this will help us in fine tuning your requirement.
    • CPU* - Intel i5 6600
    • Motherboard - MSI 970 gaming
    • GPU* - EVGA GTX1060 6gb DDR5
    • PSU* - EVGA 650W semi modular
    • HD* - Samsung 850 PRO 500 gb
    • RAM* - Corsair Vengeance PRO 8gb DDR 3 (qty:2)
    • Cabinet - Cooler Master
  5. Is this going to be your final configuration or you would be adding/upgrading a component in near future. If yes then please mention when and which component
    • Wont be upgrading in the foreseeable future
  6. Where will you buy this hardware? (Online/City/TE Dealer)
    • The parts mentioned in (*) asterik will be bought from US as it is black friday this week
    • Remaining ones, can be bought here via online or locally in bangalore
  7. Would you consider buying a second hand hardware from the TE market
    • Yes
  8. What is your intended use for this PC/hardware
    • Gaming
    • Data Analysis (SAS, Hadoop, Hive, R)
  9. Do you have any brand preference or dislike? Please name them and the reason for your preference/dislike.
    • Not really. The reason i chose EVGA because of its International warranty.
  10. If you will be playing games then which type of games will you be playing?
    • DOTA 2
    • All upcoming 2017 games (E.g. Watch Dogs 2)
  11. What is your preferred monitor resolution for gaming and normal usage
    1. 1280x1080
  12. Are you looking to overclock?
    • Yes, but not at the moment
  13. Which operating system do you intend to use with this configuration?
    • Windows 7 64 bit/Windows 10

I am filled all the details to best of my knowledge. I would happily reduce my current cost which is around 75K, even though most parts are from US.

970 board is for amd, u need h110 or b150 or h170 motherboard for i5 6600

and do you have a relative in US if not then check for the shipping charges before ordering anything from US.

also u need ddr4 ram .... ddr3 won't be supported.

As you want to enjoy new games and given they are ridiculously big in size(most new AAA titles) you might want to replace 512gb ssd with a 250gb ssd + 1/2tb hdd and reserve ssd for os.
Though 650w is nice choice but I guess your config would be fine with a 550w psu(obviously any premium brand like evga, seasonic etc).

Thanks a lot Serious Sam.

I couldn't edit the thread and hence didn't change it. I am planning to get the i7 processor and also intel supported mis motherboard. Can you suggest one?

Also, I will be going with vengeance ddr4 8gb ram.

One of my friends is coming from US during Dec second week. So will be getting via him.

ok then if your friend is coming from US them i would suggest u get a gtx 1070 from evga or gtx 1060 if it gets out of your budget as evga provides international warranty.

u don't need i7 for gaming .... it would be waste of money.

if you're going with i5 6600 then u don't need to buy expensive ram ..... get kingston hyperx 2X8 GB 2133 mhz as higher won't be supported by motherboard so why waste money.

OP needs to get everything here except EVGA GPU since it has international warranty.

Budget -68.5K

Intel Core i7 6700K -27000,
Gigabyte Z170X-Gaming 5 -16500,
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB 3000Mhz -7000,
WD Caviar Blue 1TB -3500,
Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD -7000,
Seasonic M12II 620w -7000,
Corsair SPEC-03 -3500,
Cooler Master Octane Gaming Bundle -4000.

Total -68,500.

Go with EVGA GTX1070 8GB from US.
Or
Go with EVGA GTX1060 6GB.

GTX1070 8GB is for 1440p monitors only.
Better to go with GTX1060 6GB.

You can game on 1080p in ultra settings.

PS: My suggestion would be to go with RX 480 8GB.

If you pair it with any Freesync Monitor which comes cheaply, no more stuttering.

Even RX 480 can be further Crossfired with another card in future if need arises.

Because AMD GPUs are better suited for DirectX 12 which Windows 10 uses by dedault.

The advantages are hardware based not like in nvidia which is software based.

Research well and take the step.

Hey @bssunilreddy - Could you please explain the line - "The advantages are hardware based not like in nvidia which is software based"?
AMD only can run Async Compute & Vulkan because its GPUs hardware support it.

Nvidias hardware is not built for Vulkan & Async Compute.
Vulkan is supported by Nvidia on software level.

So in DirectX 12 which is the future of most upcoming games will give more fps on AMD GPUs compared to Nvidia which gives more fps in DirectX 11 games only.

I just got a whole bunch of components from U.S

I first suggest u to check out r/buildapcsales on Reddit.

Secondly,u can get a 10 times better rig in U.S then Here, try to import as many things as you can

10-14k comes with warranty
These sell for 25k+ here

PSU-EVGA supernova 650G1/GQ etc (around 5k) again warranty is provided

GPU-EVGA GTX 1070-25k-warranty Provided

CPU-I5 6600K-around 10k locally at times otherwise 14k online -No Warranty
(You can also get a i7 6700k for around 16k in store) else it's 20k

Keyboard-
(Best option)
Used Quickfire Rapid red cherry 3.5k)+max/WASD keycaps (3k)

If you are a noob about mechanical keyboards then buy this -
Corsair K70

CABINET-Buy in India,no point in imports

SSD-
crucial Mx300 goes on constant deals around 7k for 750gb/500gb 3.5k for 256gb
Just Buy it,don't ask questions!

HDD -HGST ultrastar from GoHDD
3tb for around 5k
Or seagate 3tb-5k

Liquid Cooling-
Switftech Apogee -3k
GTX 1070 waterblock (Swiftech/EKWB) 6k

Pump, reservoir, fittings, drain, fill port ,radiator tube can be brought from AliExpress for 9k
