Hi all,
I am looking to buy 8/16 GB SLC flash/thumb drive. Any specific models people can recommend ? Also any price points people can share ?

http://www.computerwarehousepricelist.com/ lists thumb drives between Rs. 370 to Rs. 600/- , are these MLC's or SLC's ?

Also are SLC's as reliableas claimed for the premium they charge ?

Lastly, if there are any ways to make out which is an SLC pen drive and an MLC pen drive would be good/nice.

For info. http://www.flashbay.com/support/faq/slc-mlc-usb-flash-drives

Look forward to updates.

Those are all MLC drives. I'm not aware of any SLC thumb drives available locally.
If you have the option of importing : http://www.amazon.com/Mach-Xtreme-S...2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1438729170&sr=1-2

Alternatively, you could scour through sites like mouser, digikey, etc. looking for SLC memory cards (used for "industrial" purposes), and use a USB mem card reader. Another option is getting an SLC SSD and using a SATA to USB casing. These options are also quite expensive.

SLC is indeed more reliable. Whether it is worth the premium is for you to evaluate. There are options like using much larger MLC drives with enough free space and properly working wear leveling to enhance reliability.
