Rumors on the upcoming Lava XOLO A1000 surfaced a few days ago and now the Indian company has now announced that the smartphone will soon go on sale via major retailers across the country.

Although Lava is mostly known for its affordable Android devices, the XOLO A1000 is one of the few in the premium series.

Lava prides itself with XOLO A1000’s size, as the phone is just 8.8mm thick and under around 7.1mm wide. That is supposed to make it the first 5-inch smartphone perfectly fit for single-hand operation, Lava claims.

Moreover, the handset maker claims XOLO A1000 comes with an HD display and a first of its kind One Glass Solution (OGS) display technology.

In fact, the 5-inch HD IPS capacitive touchscreen display with One Glass Solution (OGS) and a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels is the phone’s main selling point.

Furthermore, XOLO A1000 ships with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box. It packs a 1 GHz processor by MediaTek, along with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory that can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD memory card.

Another strong point of the phone is the enhanced 8-megapixel rear camera that features autofocus, LED flash, full HD (1080p) video recording and BSI sensor technology.

With BSI (Back Side Illumination) technology, users will be able to capture clear pictures even in low light environment. It is also worth mentioning that the 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls features the same BSI technology.

XOLO A1000 is powered by a 2100 mAh battery which has been confirmed to offer 21 hours of music playback time.

According to Lava, the XOLO A1000 is now available in two colors, black and white, at leading retailers across the country.

Customers in India can purchase the smartphone via Flipkart for only Rs 13,999 outright.

Anyone bought this? Or had any experience using it?

I saw it in Croma as a friend wanted this phone and it was ticking almost all boxes. Construction is surprisingly decent and with a few tweaks lag should be minimized.
