I need to help with my brother who is studying architect degree. He uses Photoshop,autocad,revit,3dxmax, Lumion. Except Lumion other softwares may be open simultaneously as well. I need a config which suits well for this. Can anyone help?

He uses rendering softwares. Rendering should go smooth. So it needs more RAM or effective Graphics card?

depends on the budget. I would suggest vaio z canvas/surface book.
reasons:
1. touch screen with pen input very useful for working with drawing / photoshop.
2. Vaio Z canvas supports Adobe color gamut so colors and display would be very accurate.
3. ofcourse more ram and processing power with gpu.

Buying from India?
Best option is this-

Don't worry reputed seller.
Add 4 GB Ram for ₹1700/-
An SSD FOR 3k
Transcend SSD370S 128GB https://www.amazon.in/dp/B00VX82P2E/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_H2svwbREAGFJY

For 55k you are done with a decent laptop.

Do not buy Dell,HP all U processors suck at rendering.

Lenovo -Y50 @86k only option.

Yeah buying from India.
Regarding Ebay seller, I should ask the seller to configure a SSD in my laptop instead of HDD and also ask for a 4/8 GB RAM. Am I correct?

Do not buy Dell,HP - any specific reason ? Though I am more inclined towards Lenovo. Just wanted to know any reason?

Thanks for your help though

Get a RAM stick and SSD

Crucial 4GB CT51264BF160B 204-pin SODIMM DDR3 PC3-12800 memory module https://www.amazon.in/dp/B005LDLV6S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_yqvvwbWGVJFTW

Also Ripjaws from Primeabgb

After you get the RAM and SSD ,Go to a computer repair/technician and ask him to swap HDD to SSD,SSD to Optical Drive and upgrade RAM.
He will charge 500 bucks.

Else catch someone on this forum who lives near you and ask for help. You can save 500 bucks this way.
