HP 15 BS145TU Laptop Gaming

I am planning to buy this laptop HP 15 BS145TU (https://www.amazon.in/dp/B078LQ1W9Q...olid=3MBJGX6XXE33F&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it)...

1. Is it safe to purchase from Amazon cause last time I ordered a laptop from Flipkart they send me broken product twice time...

2. Apart from work which I think will be fine with Intel i5 8250U processor can I play games as Fallout 4, Skyrim - Special Edition, Oblivion in this laptop at 720p low/medium settings.

3. If anyone owning this laptop what they think about this laptop...

I will buy a caddy and install a SSD and another 8 GB RAM in this....

I would suggest this laptop, If you can up your budget a bit and go for something with MX150 for future gaming at low settings.

Hello thanks for your reply...
Is Acer will be a good brand compared with Asus or HP...
Also I read somewhere this laptop RAM is not upgradable... I already own a 8 GB DDR4 RAM and I need more RAM for Android Studio development and VMWare running...

Thank you...

Android studio works good even on 4gb. Vmware you will require 16+ if it's gonna be esxi. Normal workstation will suffice in 8-12 which again depends what os you plan to virtually deploy.

Is there a free M.2 SSD port on this laptop... I can understand that RAM upgrade is not possible...

Acer Swift 3 Ryzen 5 Quad Core - (8 GB/1 TB HDD/Linux) SF315-41 Laptop from flipkart
got this , has a spare M.2 NVMe and SATA port but BIOS is locked, only few WIFI card and ssd are permitted . Got a samsung PM961 M.2 PCIe NVMe PCI-Express 3.0 x4 which is Samsung EVO 960 OEM https://www.ebay.in/itm/173215144093?aff_source=hasoffers&offer_id=19
but that was not recognized . It has no product page with specifications , customer care wont help , For everything its service center
After posting in Acer forums they recommended Intel 600p NVMe which is half speeds of Samsung one . that too because it has Acer part Number
Acer forums have no company rep . Its users helping each other so no official replies . have emailed called up different service center , visited one of them but no one will tell which SSD can be installed .
For installing samsung SSD took 750/ bucks as warranty sticker was there on screws . after SSD was not shown in BIOS and i asked them the reason , they replied its not compatible . I asked then why did you install and the fukn ass replies - you paid us to install SSD , compatible or not your problem .......

have ordered this - https://www.amazon.in/Intel-600p-SS...=desidime01-21&ascsubtag=20180408cl2simsajgml from ebay 256GB version
Will reach in 2/3 days then only buy this .
rest read the specs but if you cant install a M.2 NVMe in empty port its a big downer . then have to install M.2 SATA

So beware with ACER , with HDD its damn slow . Might be as i am coming from SSD earlier

Lol to that service center guy.... HP support was far better IMO...

Anyways I am from SSD to I upgraded my old laptop's HDD to SSD for speed reason using a caddy...

Now really confused between HP BS145TU and this Acer laptop... The main reason is IPS display and LED backlight keyboard....

Maybe I will buy the HP one and use the caddy SSD for OS and HDD for data and install 8 GB DDR4 RAM on top of that...

16 GB RAM, 250 GB SSD and 1 TB HDD on HP BS145TU will not be bad for programming and office work...

The main concern is here will that able to play some games with low settings...

No CD rom for installing a caddy in here
IPS and backlit are nice in acer

Not fit in my budget...[DOUBLEPOST=1523202362][/DOUBLEPOST]

How was your gameplay experience with modern AAA titles on that laptop?

What kind of issues are you facing with that laptop?
havent tested
BIOS is locked , cant install Samsung NVMe ssd . Have to perforce select intel NVMe which is 50% speeds of Samsung but 3 times the speed of SATA SSD

Is it possible to install a sata 2.5inch SSD by replacing the HDD ?

Might be but their another ribbon cable coming out from 2.5 HDD casing which joins a port on motherboard . Cannot see , its covered but service center can surely do it

Ok an update about the trysts with this shitty laptop -- check here https://community.acer.com/en/discu...pport-m-2-pcie-nvme-pci-express-3-0-x4-ssd/p1

Yes that's the sata cable I suppose. I went through a disassembly guide which wasnt very good, but it seems doable. https://www.laptopmain.com/acer-swift-3-review-disassembly-ssd-hdd-upgrade-options/

The cover needs to be taken out. First the black cover, then the steel cage and screws that hold it in place. It should have been an easy job. Performance difference would have been minimal except for sequential read write.[DOUBLEPOST=1523784556][/DOUBLEPOST]How is the laptop otherwise? Battery life?

Its fine otherwise , had checked reviews then taken . Battery is lesser than i5 , its 4/5 hours region
If you are planning it in 60k from FK then dont , better options available.
I took it because got it for 33.8k after discounts and exchange of a laptop whose nothing worked except screen ...... Had planned a Samsung 256GB M.2 SSD NVMe for 4.8k
So that totaling to 38.6k will have a decent laptop which has IPS screen and backlit keyboard . I dont do gaming so i5 8th gen /Ryzen were options , any would do . Empty M.2 port was mian criteria to add SSD later with HDD
It ticked in all so took it
Also took additional 2 years warranty for 1200/ knowing acer quality . So lets say for 39860/ i have this with 3 years warranty

Damn its 48k on FK now. Agree with you that Its fine laptop with a good build, and Ryzen does well. But not worth that much. IF it came to 40k +sdd , it would be great.

Hi jeet I myself have been thinking about buying HP 15 BS145TU. Wondering if this is the one you bought and how your experice has been so far? And were you able to add SSD and RAM to it?
