Graphic Cards GTX 970 PSU compatibility

Hey guys,

I bought a GTX 970 recently from the US. It was a bit of an impulse purchase since my older GPU failed and I was getting it for $275. My friend has it now and will be giving it to me in a few days. I was just wondering if my current PSU would be compatible with it.

My PSU - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151094

Here's the rest of my rig -
i5 2500
Intel DH67BL motherboard
8 gigs of RAM

Another thing, I don't know why my older HD 6870 failed. It just stopped working one day but it ran fine for 4 years. The rest of the rig has been running fine since I pulled the GPU out so I don't think there's anything wrong with my PSU, but is there any way to make sure? I wouldn't want to lose a brand new card. I do have a bit of an earthing problem in my house unfortunately.

you can try to bake your graphics card if you want to revive it.. but thats for another thread.
Yes, that PSU is fine. Can't say if that caused the card to fail.
