Storage Solutions Good internal laptop hard disk

I am purchasing a second hard disk for laptop which I am going to install in place of dvd drive using a hdd caddy.
Of all the storage options only 1 tb drives are available. Samsung spinpoint 2 tb is available in amazon but it is costly (10k) hence out of range. Only other option greater than 1 tb is hgst travelstar 1.5 tb which was arount 6.5-7k last time I checked its price but now it is unavailable in most of the e-retailers. So I want to know that is there any way I can purchase that hgst 1.5 tb, or if not which is the best 1 tb drive available on the market right now. I will prefer reliability over performance, since even though I will get replacement drive, but I will lose all data. Please tell me which brand is better. WD, seagate, hitachi, toshiba and so on. I have already purchased hdd caddy, so will be purchasing hard drive within next few days.

Hi @Parag Sinha,

I’d like to add the word on it. In terms of reliability, WD Red drive is good and have, the less failure rate.

Based on your requirement, I’d suggest you to go with the WD Red HDD because It has inbuilt Nasware technology to prevent the bad sectors and provide the data security. With the help of Nasware technology, the failure rate of HDD will be less. The WD Red is designed to just spin constantly for continual use/availability and provide the reliability.
