Hello!

I am not sure if this is the right section to post this. If it isn't, I would be delighted if the mods could move it to the appropriate section.

I am looking for an inexpensive (or reasonably priced, whichever offends your sensibilities less) gfx card that supports 4k resolution and three screens.

The hardware

AMD Phenom II X4 945 CPU
16 GB RAM
256GB SSD - Primary HDD
Gigabyte GA880GM Motherboard.
R7 240 Gfx card.

I already have two 24inch monitors running at 1080p. I am planning to hook a 4k TV to this rig. I am looking for a GFX card that could support the additional 3rd screen at 4k resolution on Windows 10.

I would like to know if there is a GFX card that would allow me to do it.

The system is working fine, so I am not sure if I do want to dedicate time, energy, and money into upgrading the CPU and Motherboard.

Thank you for reading through :)

While your card can definitely put out 4K, putting it in a 3 monitor setup might be taxing on the card. Also, I highly doubt any decent game will run at 4K with the card, the best you might be able to do is watch movies or videos at 4K.

Almost any gfx can run 4k TV other than HD5450.

Thank you for the reply. I was looking for a 3 monitor set up too, and I could not find any information on whether my card would support 4k, the resolution seems to be maxing at 2k. Am I missing something?

Hello Blackend, I have tried hooking up a third monitor on my card but I could see the display only on two of the monitors. Could it possible for you to direct me to a link which could help me set up 3 monitors?

One is on the VGA port, one is on the DVI port. I am planning to hook up the other one to HDMI. If need be, I can hook up two monitors on HDMI. I tried it earlier but it did not work.

It absolutely not for gaming. I am looking to use it for viewing movies and regular word processing stuff.

HDMI carries digital signal which is much faster
VGA carries analog signal
You cannot convert a digital to analog and vice versa

Your last option is to go with

Zotac GTX750Ti 2GB @ 9k

After looking up some stuff online, it seems your card can only run 2 monitors, not 3. Triple monitor support exists for cards 250 and above.

Yep. My search also returned the same result. That was exactly why I was looking for a card that can support 3 monitors. Preferable two via HDMI, and one via VGA or DVI.

I think Reddy misunderstood my post.

By going with the following GPU you will get 2 DVI and 1 HDMI.
Zotac GTX750Ti 2GB @ 9k

The one that @bssunilreddy is recommending will support three monitors.

Thank you Reddy garu!

However, it has one display port, which is a pain in the bum. I was acutally looking for something with to HDMIs or at least one HDMI and one VGA and one DVI. Anything you have in mind?[DOUBLEPOST=1469849643][/DOUBLEPOST]

The ports on this one are the issue. it has one display port, which is a pain in the bum. I was acutally looking for something with to HDMIs or at least one HDMI and one VGA and one DVI.

You can get a HDMI to Display Port adapter though.
