Android During incoming calls, back camera led pulsing instead of front led

On my redmi note 5, instead of the front notification led pulsing during an incoming call, the back camera led starts pulsing. The flash is extremely bright and annoying and blinding too.

If i go into settings and disable notification led for the phone app, the front camera does not pulse. But after a missed call, the notification led also does not pulse to show that there was a missed call.

extremely frustrating. Anyone know the solution?

edit: saw this page and removed that irritating flash pulsing.
