Graphic Cards Display issue

Since past couple of months I'm facing this annoying issue.

For a just a second, randomly my screen goes blank and returns to normal. This happens once every hour or half.

Immediately after that when I viewed Event viewer it reads,

The NVIDIA Display Driver Service service entered the running state.

Now what this is suppose to point at? Isnt the nvidia driver running for the whole time the system is running?

Apart from this no bsods, hang ups etc. are observed.

**No 3rd party tool etc. is used or installed to tweak any display/gpu settings etc.

Amd phenom 720
biostar mobo
8gb xms3
dell st2220m
xfx 9800gtx 512mbddr3
6 hdds
 
Seems like a driver issue, but I had encountered a similar issue with Intel igp that was using special drivers for wide screen resolution. Check the time out for the monitor, found in energy saving settings. Also check the various options in the energy settings.
