I bought this meat grinder from Amazon but am worried about food safety. Can someone help me identify the coating. The material is cast iron, which I would assume is safe, but the blue coating is making me nervous.

It looks like that shiny metallic paint you use for cupboards. They didn't even fill the dents. they just blasted the piece with powder coat and baked it i think. Even the screw has jagged edges to cut fingers. :S
No QC or safety or anything. Just dump pieces on Indians and forget they ever existed.

Stainless steel ones are safer than iron ones. You can clean them with boiling hot water too if you're really ocd about germs and bacteria.

Sorry, No idea. I searched lots of Amazon reviews and saw some of those iron / aluminum ones left shards of metal in ground meat.
The stainless steel ones on amazon india look like professional level 18-20KG per hour output type ones.
